The German Society for Nutrition said that artichoke is a superfood, as it is considered a treasure of minerals and vitamins on the one hand and promotes metabolism and digestion on the other hand. The association explained that artichokes are rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin B, vitamin E and provitamin A. Artichoke contains cynarin, which lowers cholesterol and promotes digestion and metabolism.
